I received a fake watch as a gift a couple of years ago, it was a a very nice looking fake Breitling, it lasted about 4 years before conking out as you would expect, however it was pretty well made and certainly looked the business. I guess what I am asking is if you are going to go to so much trouble to make a copy why only then are they sold for a few quid? If it was not made as a fake and made as a new make it could probably sell for more as a half decent watch on its own merits?
I have a new_to_me Patek - a 35mm rose gold identifed at ref. 2450. Looking at the Antiquorum catalogue and my various books, I see this reference no. with a couple different case designs. The case serial number also does not fit into the listings at: Brittons Patek dating. In looking at the movement number I suspect the watch dates to the early 50's . The watch needs service (broken set lever) and some cleanup and I am weighing the best course of action with an eye towards getting it back onto
