I have an Omega Constellation that I wish to send off to Jesse (Omega564) to get him to service and clean up for me, sounds simple.well not so if you live in Ireland. For the past few weeks I have been in a battle with the postal service in Ireland, first problem they refuse to insure my watch for me in the mail, they have a policy of no jewellery/cash can be insured I tried a few other methods to get the watch to Jesse, anyone travelling to the states and then maybe post it locally..not possible
2452jn8_19.jpgOne of the thrift stores I work in got in a 60'/70's (Maybe 50's era??) wind up Helbros (Attached pic isn't the actual watch but the exact model). Anyway, the back, except for the cover, is covered in a greenish gunk; around the cover, the lugs, etc.Whats the safest way to clean this, and what would I use to clean it with?Maybe I should post before/after pics? Thanks!
