I bought this new in the late 1980's but couldn't tell you exactly when. I do remember at the time that for me it was quite a large purchase, and I paid full MSRP. Got this watch for $20 dollars, I thought it was a super good deal because I've seen these watches go for 100 or more on ebay, has some small dings and scratches around the face and on the glass but appears to be working fine so far.
