I have seen some great deals on watches that have non-standard straps and passed because I'm not sure what I could do if something went wrong with the strap. Even if it's a stainless bracelet, because I once had to special order a Seiko band that cost $65 for a couple hundred dollar watch, and that was in the '80's when $60 meant much more than it does now!
After purchasing several vintage watches, I'm coming to the conclusion that only those with round cases are big enough to look good on my wrist.
