I can't quite put my finger on why, but I have nothing against quartz watches and I like a small seconds complication, but can't warm up to a quartz with small seconds (unless it's a chronograph). I guess in my mind a small seconds subdial is equated with classic design, while quartz isn't at all. Am I alone in this?
Why? The hands are on so tight (especially on the chronographs) that they are very difficult to remove without damaging them. The easiest way to handle them is to just tear them off and charge the customer for a new set.The fact is that a good watchmaker can remove and replace them without doing any damage.
