I take all of my vintage watches to a jeweler that I have known for years now, but he sends them out to a watch repairman to do the work that I don't know. I do trust that my jeweler is doing right by me however, because I've taken 4 of my vintage watches to him for various problems such as slow running, fast running and intermitent running and it seems in all 4 cases, they just needed a good cleaning. He charges $65.00 or there-abouts for a cleaning. All 4 watches have come back in good running
When I was looking for an example of my Hamilton watch I "won" yesterday, I found one like it on the bay, with AShland Investments .....and they had this Watch condition grading guide ...that they got from someone in Switzerland ....so I am not sure if we can keep it or not......But it is far and away the most detailed method of grading watches I have ever seen ......( for what that's worth ) anyway .....http://www.ashlandinvestment.com/GRADING.html
