I love that Martin Braun ad at the top of this page - the one with the running watch. I set my watches to that thing. I was wondering how accurate that is. And then I started wondering how accurate the clock is in my computer. Are these things programmed to check in with an atomic clock from time to time and make small adjustments? Or are they simply quartz clocks that get set one time and then off to the races??????
I have accumulated 15 or so watches over the past few years and when i was out of town last month i decided i should have my watches insured for obvious reasons. Those of you that do insure your watches, did you need an appraisal on anything over $2500? That is what my insurance co. is telling me. Also is it customary for a rolex AD to charge for an appraisal of a piece which i did not buy from them. Can any jewler appraise a rolex or does it need to be done by an AD?
