I accidently noticed that a magnet placed on the watch-back at the 8 o'clock position will stop the watch. It's a nice way to stop the watch to allow time to catch-up to correct time without have to pull stem and reset and wait to click back in place. I noticed it when I read that the new parachrome spring is un-affected by magnets. I put a magnet to my 2005 sub, and it stopped. I tried it on my new GMTIIc and it also stopped. ?? Okay, I admit I'm a tad impulsive. On a whim a couple months ago (after spending too much on a new watch), I sold my mint condition SMP 2254.50.
